allura

This is the third time we have had a tech come out to service our GE stainless steel Allura microwave. I wouldn't mind so much but it is only 15 months old. The first guy replaced the magnetron. Second guy replaced everything he said. The third guy just replaced a $7 fuse for $150.

Each time we did get a discounted rate by calling up GE and complaining very loudly. So at least they have done that much for us. But I can't understand how so many people have had the same problems as we have and GE is still allowed to sell this junk to consumers. We also have a GE dishwasher and refrigerator which all together cost us over $2,000.

If they are both running at the same time it sounds like we have a diesel truck parked in our kitchen. If anyone out there can build and sell an American made appliance that lasts longer than 5 years, they would be an instant millionaire. All the junk that we buy now is made in China, Malaysia or some other foreign country and they could care less if it last longer than one year. The only way to show them that we don't accept this garbage anymore is to buy only American products if you can find them.
