Christmas is just about a month away and apart from all the shopping that you still need to do, I’m sure that you’re also worried about what to prepare for Christmas dinner.
While you’re busy making sure that the main dishes are cooking well in the kitchen, you can keep your family and guests happy by making some great Christmas party appetizers.
One Christmas party appetizer recipe that I’m going to share with you is for a Fruit Fondue. All you need to make this easy recipe are the following:
To make this appetizer, or dessert if you prefer, combine the chocolate chips and milk in a saucepan and heat for about a minute on medium. Stir until smooth. If the mixture isn’t smooth or hot, heat in 15 second intervals until smooth and hot, stirring after every interval.
Cut up the fruits, doughnuts and pound cake into chunks. Using a dinner fork or a fondue fork, dip the fruits and cakes into the chocolate mixture and enjoy. You can use other fruits apart from the ones listed above, depending on what’s available. Just make sure that the fruits you’re choosing work well with chocolate.
The next Christmas appetizer recipe that I’m going to share with you is for a Spinach and Artichoke Dip. All you need to make this are the following:
To make the dip, place the chunks of cream cheese, sour cream and parmesan cheese into a microwavable bowl and microwave for 2 minutes. Stir the mixture well after heating.
Thaw the frozen spinach under warm water and squeeze dry. Add the spinach to the cream cheese mixture and heat in the microwave for another minute.
Add the artichokes, mayonnaise and garlic and microwave in 2-minute intervals, stirring in between, until the mixture is hot and bubbling. Pour the hot mixture into a serving bowl and let cool. Once cool, adjust the taste with Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco sauce, salt and pepper. Once you’re satisfied with how the dip tastes, serve with some crackers or toasted bread.
You don’t have to limit yourself to just spinach and artichoke though as this recipe has a lot of variations. You can have a crabmeat and spinach dip or a mushroom and artichoke dip. The process of making it remains the same. You’re just replacing some of the main ingredients with flavors that you like. Feel free to experiment and make other variations of this dip recipe. The key is to mix your favorite ingredients but make sure that the flavors complement each other.
With these two Christmas party appetizer recipes, you’re sure to keep your guests entertained while waiting for that scrumptious Christmas dinner that you’ve been slaving in the kitchen for.
