How to steam cauliflower in microwave
Put cauliflower in microwave vegetable steamer and put in the microwave. Set in high for 6 to 7 minutes per pound. This setting is for 800 to 1000 watt microwave with turntable. If you have a lower watt then you should increase the time. If you don't have the turntables then rotate dish half way.
Note : To retain steam, cover cauliflower with vented plastic wrap. Place the vegetables in a shallow casserole or deep platter to retain natural juices.
Melting chocolate in microwave
Put the chocolate in a microwave safe container, uncovered and to work on medium or low power and in short intervals.
Please note that the chocolate may hold in its shape even though its melted. So to avoid over heating and possibly scorching the chocolate, stir it frequently.
It is best if you can chopped the chocolate first. The chocolate will melt evenly and the process will go faster.
How to melt jelly or jam
Remove lid from jar. Microwave half cup for 40 sec. Set in High
How to get more juice from lemon or lime
Microwave one lemon for 15 sec on high. Roll on counter and squeeze
How to make vegetarian gelatin
Mix 2 cups of water with 3 ounces packages of veggie gelatin mix in a 4 cup casserole. Microwave on high for 5 minutes and stirring once. Veggie gelatin will become clear when it reaches boil. Remove from microwave and refrigerate until set.
