After a disastrous experience with an online purchase of a mini microwave oven that ended up with double shipping charges and a 15% restocking fee, I decided to run out to a local retailer.
I looked at what they had to offer and was pleasantly surprised with the number of models carried. I found a very good price and feature set on the GE Microwave Ovens JES0736SMSS which fit my spacial dimensions perfectly.
This model is 700watts with a clear glass turntable. The keypad is pretty simple and east to operate. The LED itself is large enough to easily read, but I wouldn't mind a slightly bigger one. There are six quick-start buttons for a few items like pizza and popcorn and a general reheat option. It has an auto defrost and a really interesting two stage timer that can allow for pauses to stir or add to dishes and start cooking again.
The outside of this model has a very nice stainless steel appearance to it with black accent. It also has a child lock on the keypad that prevents accidental use, which I am greatly appreciative of since I often watch my young great niece. But, my favorite and most used feature is the add 30 seconds button. I LOVE this feature. It is something so simple yet so convenient. I just can't see not having it.
