This microwave is 150% applicable to the phrase "more bang for your buck". I purchased this microwave about 8 months ago mainly because it was a very affordable purchase.
It also had a higher wattage than most other microwaves in its price range. I didn't find out until I tried using the appliance exactly what that higher wattage was capable of.
I had put something in for a minute less than the recommended cooking time and before the timer was finished, I had successfully turned my meal into a culinary grenade. I thought,"OK. Maybe if I turn it down a little, it won't blow up my food." I currently have the appliance set at 50% power and I am still having to subtract 90 seconds or more off of the cooking time with only slightly more desirable results.
Another problem I have with this microwave is the "convenient" reheat feature in which the microwave "senses" the temperature of the food and heats accordingly. The microwave does one of two things: it blows up my food, or it overcooks the outside while leaving the inside cold.
One good thing I have to say about the microwave is that with the significantly higher wattage, defrosting is made much easier.
All in all it's not a bad microwave if you have the time perform long division and algebra to calculate cooking times.
