So what are the qualities that a heavy duty microwave oven should possess – or rather, what are the qualities that a good oven should possess if it is going to be put to some heavy duty use.
One of the main things that a good oven should possess, is of course, a powerful and highly reliable heating ability, this including different heat levels and settings, as well as decent 'preheat' capabilities.
Then it should, with all this be reasonably compact for it's size and interior volume. And it would be very nice if it had a hardy construction that would stand the test of time, as well as the occasional knock.
A good oven should be made to last – I've had one heavy duty microwave oven for over seven years now, and you can imagine that it's repaid it's investment many times over. Well, that's what an oven should be like.
Another nice thing is if the oven is stack able – meaning that you can put things or even other appliances on it, or under it – within reason, of course.
And of course many new ovens these days have vastly improved methods of heat distribution that you should look into and research well before you actually make a choice of oven.
This can be very important indeed, because a good heat distribution system ensure even heating, and that in turn ensures that your food is evenly cooked by your heavy duty microwave oven, and done to a turn.
Another thing that you need to look at is power, especially if you're a commercial enterprise – you want to ensure that your oven can cook food swiftly and efficiently, and that it can rise to whatever demands you choose to make of it.
A 2100 watt oven should provide lots of power. Check on capacity too, of course – your oven should be able to handle a dish of any size you need to cook or serve – I'd say a .6 or a .9 cubic foot of space would be able to handle the needs of a small commercial establishment, especially if you had several such ovens.
One feature that is very useful in a heavy duty microwave oven, especially to someone who is doing a lot of cooking is programmable menus – both menus for standard foods and some sections that you can program yourself, allowing you to customize the microwave to your own specific needs, thus making cooking that many times more efficient.
Similarly, and especially in a powerful oven, a good range of power levels simplifies cooking to a great extent, allowing you to control precisely what your oven does and how it does it – with an oven with a variable range, you can effortlessly – and which is more important, correctly – defrost, cook, even crisp or brown, in short, do anything that the cuisine you are creating requires of you.
If you're a commercial establishment this can really come in handy, because you can use your this kind of microwave to pre-create meals and put food that is tasty and edible on the table in minutes, resulting in some very satisfied customers.
