Matsui Microwave SMW17
This small beast has 700W worth of pure cooking power. It is very small and compact, and due to price has no extra features.
The Matsui Microwave SMW17 has two dials in the front, the other to adjust power and the other one to adjust the timer - no pleasure of digital buttons here! The 9,6 inch rotating plate is pretty standard fare as well. The oven is also very small making it ideal for kitchens with very little space. Perhaps this is suitable for a bachelor's flat as the man's first microwave oven.
While small size and minimalist design makes this model sleek and attractive, the compact structure of the SMW17 is the only major downside of the model as well. For example cooking microwave popcorn in this oven is very difficult as the bag keeps getting stuck - it doesn't fit to rotate in the oven! For general cooking 700W is enough for all tasks and the oven is also suitable for defrosting.
If you are looking for a sturdy little cooking machine I can sincerely recommend the Matsui SMW17! It surely doesn't have any extra bells and whistles, but this design also has very few moving parts to break.
