Microwave Bacon Rack

Microwave Bacon Rack
The Cameron’ Makin’ Bacon

Bacons are a healthy food stuff used for any kind of meal. Cooking bacon in frying pan can be time consuming and can require too much oil.

We would always prefer to have bacon that is crispier but contain less fat.

On a frying pan, it may not be easy to achieve this combination without burning some bacon strips. However, if we can somehow microwave the bacon, we may be able to achieve this result.

Many vendors have come up with their versions of what they consider a good microwave bacon cooker. Typically these designs have a provision to hang bacon strips on the vessel and a base that can collect excess fat that may ooze out during the microwaving process.

Functions and Features

Microwave Bacon Rack, The Cameron’ Makin’ Bacon The Cameron’ Makin’ Bacon is an example of this kind of cooker. This unit consists of a base with slots for three T units. These units are used to hang the bacon strips for cooking. The best part about Makin’ Bacon is that these T’s are re-positionable. If you want to cook bacon just for yourself, just have a single T in the unit and place bacon strips on that. If there are more, slot in more T’s as required. This makes the unit quite flexible – something that is not found in most rival products.

Another aspect is its base. The Makin’ Bacon had the base that collects all the excess fat that drips from the bacon. So while cooking bacon, you don’t have to bother with loads of paper towels to soak up the fat. Most of it should get accumulated in the base leaving just a little that can be mopped using a single paper towel.

Cleaning this unit is also extremely easy. With all the fat collecting in the base, all you need to do is empty the base and rinse it to get rid of the fat lining. Now the unit is ready for dishwasher. Place it in the top rack of the dishwasher and you should have sparkling clean vessel back.

However, all’s not good with this unit. There have been observations where bacon strips placed on the same T, get stuck to each other and in come cases get cooked unevenly. These are problems for the customer, but these are not without solutions. To avoid such issues, you can check the status of the bacon every couple of minutes and readjust their placement to ensure fully cooked and crispy bacon.

How to use microwave bacon rack
