GE Microwave Buying Guide
Several information you need to know
before you buy GE Microwave

microwave buying guideWhen you’re looking for a microwave oven it’s good to understand from the start that there are three different types of microwaves available out there.

  • There’s the traditional and well-known countertop microwave, the one that’s most commonly found in most kitchens
  • There’s the built-in microwave which comes with the ability of being able to be installed into cupboards
  • The third is the over-the-range microwave oven which as its name implies is meant to be installed above the oven.

It’s true that the latter option can be a bit on the pricey side GE microwaves offer great heating and come with the latest in microwave cooking technology such as their “Speed cook technology” for instance.

GE microwaves offer halogen cook top lighting so that every inch of the cooking surface is perfectly illuminated; their Sensor Cooking controls make the microwave more than just a tool they make it into a valuable helper since it can adjust the time and power automatically giving rise to exceptional cooking results.

GE microwave ovens also come with several cooking modes which allow you to bake, brown, roast, broil and even grill extremely fast thanks to the fact that in a microwave there’s no need time wasted with preheating.

The GE over the range microwave ovens also come in a lot of sizes and one of them will surely fit in the area above your range. These microwave ovens start at $219 which might seem somewhat pricey but when you consider the brand name and the features that you’re getting it evens out.

The GE built in microwave ovens are quite similar to the over-the-range models with some minor and subtle differences like the door opening like an oven door from top to bottom which helps create more counter space.

These built-in microwaves also come in many dimensions and cost from $869 to $2119, the more you’re willing the pay the more features you’ll be getting. One of the features that the more expensive models come with is the 100 pre-programmed cooking options.

Now talking a bit about the most basic of microwave ovens, the countertop oven, while they are considerably cheaper than the built-in and over-the-range models they do not hold back on the power and features.

The prices for these models range from $69 to $519 and they all come with great features like the Child Lock-Out which enables you to lock the keypad so that the oven can’t be accidentally started by your children.

These microwave models also come with a great Auto Defrost feature which automatically sets the time and power in order to give you the greatest defrosting results for all types of meat.
