Mocha Truffles

Microwave Candy Recipes

One of the first things we'll learn to create are mocha truffles – these are always a wonderful treat, and all that you need to make them are some cream cheese and dark chocolate.

This is really one of the best microwave candy recipes.

To begin with, you'll need about:

  • 8 ounces of softened cream cheese
  • 3 tablespoons of coffee granules
  • Preferably for instant coffee
  • A pound or so of some nice dark chocolate.
  • A little water – not much, about two tablespoons should be quite enough
  • Some cocoa confectionery and even some white confectionery coating – these are for aesthetic appeal.

The Instructions:

  • First melt the chocolate in your microwave.
  • Then add the cream cheese, along with the coffee and two tablespoons of water.
  • Mix it very well, so that the mix attains a smooth consistency. A smooth consistency in the mix is crucial to most microwave candy recipes.
  • Once you have that, let the mix cool enough for you to mold it into shape. You can make one inch balls of it – this is the easiest shape, but actually you can create just about any small shape of an equivalent size that you choose.

Creating the Shape

One easy way to create the shapes is to use the little molds that you get for marzipan sweets, for example.

However you create the shapes, once they're done you need to place them on some waxed paper – a standard cookie sheet will work just fine. Now you need to put them in the refrigerator until they are nice and firm. As you can see, this is one of the easiest microwave candy recipes.

Cover the Shape

Now you need to cover the shapes with chocolate, for a delicious coating of dark chocolate that will simply melt in the mouth, and taste heavenly.

  • So first what you need to do is to melt some chocolate.
  • Then you take the shapes from the refrigerator and you dip the shapes into it.
  • Then let the chocolate harden and if you would like to provide some aesthetic contrast, melt the white confectionery and drip it on to the shapes – you can even make designs with it, if you like.

That's a nice recipe for truffles – if you're going to have a nice tea party for friends, you can always make truffles go round, with some cake and cookies. Those are rather easy to make as well, but of course this articles is about microwave candy recipes.

For now, you have one more recipe in your personal cookbook, one that gives such good results and is so easy to execute that you can always rely on it when you need to make a little tasty dainty relatively quickly.

Truffles are wonderful for dessert as well, the central core making a delicious counterpoint to the pure chocolate coating. You can even experiment with the basic recipe to your heart's content, and delight your family and friends with surprising new variations.
