When I saw this on TV I couldn’t pick up the phone fast enough! I got one for me and my sister! I love this thing! Plus it came with a free recipe book and a free steamer rack!

I love that I can cook the pasta, drain it, and serve it all in one dish cuz after I cook dinner I dread the thought of having to clean it all up afterwards!

Now I don’t even have to worry about boiling water! I just throw it all in the microwave and dinner is ready in a snap!

It holds 5 pounds of pasta, but I’ve never made that much at once, sometimes I throw in some veggies cuz there is so much room to make extra so I have leftovers and don’t have to cook again so soon.

I adore pasta. I can eat it buttered with a hint of seasoning or jazz it up with various sauces. The problem for me is that I usually cook way to much.

The concept for the Pasta Boat is simplicity itself.

You get the container which is made of some durable plastic and a steamer insert and a strainer.

That is it that is all there is to this device. Yet it has become indispensable to me.

Now I will admit that I was not very impressed with the instruction booklet.

The times in there do not work for every microwave. I know I had to play with cooking times for different pastas.

When I got one right I wrote in the book and crossed out theirs.

The pasta comes out just as if it had been cooked on the stove.

The strainer lid is never used for cooking just when it comes out of the microwave to get the excess water off.

The pasta boat makes only enough pasta to feed 3-4 people, no seconds for anyone. If you have a large family this may not be the item for you but all of us single homemakers are certainly glad they thought of this one.

It is sturdy, the pasta cooks to perfection and it is easy to clean, how much more could you want.

The biggest thing to keep in mind is that the wattage of your oven will have a definite effect on your cooking times.

For instance my microwave is 1250 and I have to take at least 3 minutes off the "so called" established cooking time to get al dente pasta.
