Progressive Microwave Steamer Mini Review

I bought this for my husband to take to work since his new year’s resolution was to eat healthier. I just fill it with frozen veggies and at lunch he fills it with a bit of water and throws it in the microwave.

It’s great for single servings and he can add whatever spices or flavorings he feels like that day. Clean up is easy, he just rinses it out at work (or if he forgets I can throw it in the dishwasher at home too).

He uses it everyday and it never warps or gets discolored. It’s a great little item!

Love this little steamer

It only takes a small amount of water to steam the vegetables to perfection and the meat, if you choose to add it will come out tender and juicy.

We own the big steamer but cleaning that thing is a nightmare and this one just pops right into the dishwasher.

The other thing about the conventional steamer is that it has several different parts all require cleaning after use. The worst is that it is not portable.

With this little contraption any microwave oven becomes a steam cooker.

Every since the last of the kids went off on their own we have been trying to find ways to cook for just the two of us.

I had to relearn how to cook really. I have cooked for six people for so long that it was rough. We ended up with leftovers and leftovers of leftovers.

We are still working but soon we plan to retire and throwing money down the garbage shoot is not an option. You can easily make individual dishes in these add, whatever seasonings you like and pop it in the microwave.

I like to set them up the night before and this way we just have to grab it on the way out the door.

The best thing is like most cooks after a while you don't even need to measure to get the right amount of water. Even my husband has accomplished this line of sight measuring after all these years. The manufacturers call it functional, inventive and fun and I say I have to agree.

I recommend it to anyone who cooks for only one or two people on regular basis.
