SAMSUNG C103FL-5

I bought a samsung microwave C103FL-5 in May 2006. It had all the functions which a microwave can have. The product was good whenever it was serviceable. However, it had a long history of unserviceable right from the start. It became u/s within 1 month and since it was under warranty the technician visited me and replaced the u/s part, it took one week and nil expenditure. In November 2007 it again became u/s, technician visited me and replaced u/s parts, it took one week and 3000/-. Then, due to various reasons i could not use it for 2 yrs and it remained packed. i could open it again in Sep 2010. It was serviceable and remained so till jun 2011. Then it again became u/s. This time technician visited after 15 days of repeated calling and it seems the parts are also not available anywhere in India. Since i bought it more than 5 Yrs ago i am not eligible for "commercial solution", wherein samsung would take it back at a reduced cost and i could buy a new one. This also i could extract after 1 month of hectic calling to their call center and technician. So, I am stuck with a u/s microwave which can not be repaired as samsung India does not have parts for it, which i can not dispose of easily because it cost me lot of money, and it is occupying space in my house.
Lessons:
(a) After sales and services are extremely important while buying any product and Samsung's after sales is a big Joke.

(b) While buying a microwave pay for the functions which you are going to use frequently. Don't unnecessarily buy a microwave which has everything, if u don't need it because extra functions means extra money and extra after sales.

(c) If you were to choose between LG and Samsung choose LG. For their great after sales and support service.
