The most expensive strobe light I've ever owned
I have had this sharp microwave ovens for just under a year, and I guess you can say, "You get what you pay for." I absolutely hate it.
As a student, I do not need the bells and whistles that come with the more expensive microwaves, but I do need something that cooks efficiently every time I try to use it.
Let me start by saying that any microwave with a cheap punch-pad is sure to disappoint, as many of my keys no longer function.
The 2 and 3 buttons stopped working a couple months after I bought it, so you can imagine the hassle that causes (when you realize how often you use the 2 and 3 keys, it becomes quite an inconvenience).
Secondly, the thing cooks unevenly. Popcorn is the worst; the side that is face down BURNS, but when I take the bag out, half of the kernels are still sitting in the bottom... so I gave up popcorn.
I thought I'd try defrosting, but I end up with half cooked/half frozen meat and it's just a mess. If I want to reheat a drink, I plan on it being in there for 2-3 minutes (but I'll actually have to press the 1 minute key multiple times to get up to those 2-3 minutes because the keys don't work!!).
It is now, when I read similar reviews of this microwave, that people are having similar troubles as I am. Apparently, the key pad malfunctioning is quite common.
Another problem with this model is the NOISE. I can't heat anything up while my roommate is sleeping, or the growling wakes her up.
Additionally, it makes the lights in the kitchen flicker while it's running.
My conclusion is--if you have a bad roommate, you want to scare your cats, you enjoy strobe lights, and you like food burned on the outside and raw on the inside--this is the perfect microwave for you.
