Southwest Microwave, Inc is dedicated in designing, manufacturing and selling communications and microwave adapters/connectors for perimeter security.

Among the adapter/connector, products like the SMA connectors, SSMA connectors, N and TNC connectors, end launch connectors, cable connectors, installation and tools are included.

On the other hand, the company’s products for security perimeter are composed of micro track that have buried cable detection system, perimeter security fence systems and micro point cable fence detection systems.

They are equipped with alarm monitoring and special control systems that comprise monostatic and bistatic intrusion sensors, microwave motion sensors, passive and active infrared sensors and other accessories.

The company was established in 1981 and is located in Tempe, Arizona. Southwest Microwave,Inc had garnered a global leadership position in the manufacture and design of high quality security outdoor systems for over 35 years of experience and more than 40,000 installations in more than 80 countries.

Products and services can provide precise and immediate detection of disturbances within the perimeter across a wide range of market sectors such as the government, utilities, military, corrections, transportation, industrial and VIP residential areas. These areas specifically by their nature, demands unyielding reliability and high performance.

Some of the Products and their features:

Connectors

Experts on microwave transmission line at Southwest Microwave can improve the performance and component of your system with their connectors that feature exceptional low VSWR, low insertion loss, and low RF leakage.

These connectors are rugged and can stand severe environmental conditions. Some of the manufactured designs are high performance SMA, TNC, N, SSMA, 1.85mm, 2.40mm and 2.92mm connectors that can enhance the microwave performance of a system.

These connectors had the features of stability in high temperature and has the lowest Typ. RF Leakage of less than -100dB.

The contacts are stiffly captured for consistent electrical performance and mechanical integrity. Also, the insulators are stable in both low and high temperature and all products are in compliance with international standards such as the RoHS and WEEE Directives.

The capability of the connectors in adapting to different levels of temperature had allowed the use of lead-free soldering process.

Moreover, for the customer’s special requirements, the company had also offered other high quality performance connectors like the 3.5mm, microwave switch connectors, direct-solder flange – mounts, waveguide launch connectors, with-in series adapters, end launch assemblies, between-series adapters and assemblies of field service cable.

Microwave LAN (Local Area Network) links

This was introduced by Southwest Microwave in 1997. This is a communications network that can serve a number of users within a limited geographical area.

The user’s workstations are termed as clients and are commonly running in Windows operating system, though Linux and Mac clients are also being used in other countries.

The system has the capability of transporting data traffic at Ethernet speed of 10Mbps. The latest innovation in the group of high speed and point to point microwave links is the FASTWAVE Series 890 and the Series 990 Microwave LAN systems that utilizes 24 gigahertz (GHz) technology and was developed by the Southwest Microwave to extend Ethernet networks in a cost effective design.

Because these FASTWAVE LAN systems can operate in the frequency band of 24.0 and 24.25 GHz intended for scientific, industrial and medical purposes, users can easily relocate and install the units without the need of the FCC (Federal Communications) license.

Therefore, these microwave LAN systems are perfect for use as permanent 10Mbps connections among campus buildings and high speed links used for temporary installations such as those for portable classrooms and leased facilities.

Moreover, both these LAN systems are easy to install and of low maintenance. Included in the package are a two microwaves radio heads, both have integral antennas and a mounting hardware. The power is generated by a standard 15 DC voltage power supply.

Since it has an easy installation feature, it can be installed and aligned rapidly and the radio units can be mounted quickly on a 2.5 inches pole without the need of a special tool or any test equipment.

Another interesting feature about these microwave links are the reduced possibility of interference. There is a minimal experience in the adverse effects of radio interference in the band of 24GHz

This band of frequency is virtually unpopulated. Considering that there are complex developments of products that are associated with this frequency band, these remains to be under-utilized in most period of time.
