Tupperware Microwave Steamer

Tupperware Microwave Steamer

This cute red steamer matches everything in my kitchen, its about 8 inches wide by 3 inches tall so I can sit it out on the counter top and use it whenever I need to (super easy access, lol!) It’s great for steaming fish, veggies, flat bread, etc.

I have also just recently taken an interest in learning how to make my own dim sum since we moved to a small town where there are no dim sum restaurants. I’m not sure how to go about it yet, but I know my steamer will be just perfect for the job!

I love Tupperware
by: Anonymous

What can I say, I love Tupperware. But this is definitely not your grandmothers Tupperware. This is Tupperware for the modern age.

I have owned four of these and they have all performed beautifully. You may wonder why I had to buy so many the simple fact is that I literally wore them out. I use my Tupperware microwave steamer everyday.

I use it for vegetables, leftovers and so much more. If you have meats like turkey chicken or beef you can put a bit of the juice in the bottom and steam the moisture a flavor in at the same time. My family used to hate leftover Saturdays until I started using the steamer. Now they think they are getting fresh cooked foods instead of the leftovers.

If you like making soft shelled tacos or burritos it is the perfect thing for warming those tortillas.

My very first one was purchased at a yard sale and the lady that sold it to me said that was what she used it for. I got it home and looked it up and found out it could do so much more. I paid only $1.99 for that first one but did not hesitate to pay top price for anew one when it developed a hairline fracture.

Imagine being able to steam two sides and enough seafood for two people at once. This baby is that big and performs beautifully. If you are like me and constantly dieting this is the one piece of cookware you will not want to be without. It steams foods, locks in the flavors and keeps it low calorie.

One of the things I like best about it is that on those 90°+ days I never have to heat the house up by using the conventional oven or range top. I learned the hard way to be careful around the range with this piece.

I accidentally melted the second one setting it on a hot burner. Well that may sound like something you may need to tell a novice but when you are in a hurry you can forget that a burner is still too warm.

the entire unit is red and white so it looks good on the table. The base is a chili red and the lid is white. The inside colander is also white. The cover is designed for even steaming because it is self-venting and it has handles that never get hot so transporting it from microwave to table is not a problem.

The unit is dishwasher safe so clean up is a breeze.
